Hi Global Strays Partner,

Did you know that each year in the US, around 4.7 million people are bitten by dogs?

Here at Global Strays, as we are wrapping up Dog Bite Prevention Week, we’d like to offer some insight on how to keep you and your canine companion safe. But before we do so, to celebrate the occasion, Metro Dog Training’s Twahlee Rollins, one of New York’s premier K9 trainers & dog behaviorists, has teamed up with us to give one lucky NEW YORK AREA RESIDENT a FREE, PRIVATE training session ($350 value)! The winner will be randomly selected and announced this Friday. If you live in the New York Area, head on over to our INSTAGRAM to ENTER.

This week, we spoke to Twahlee, who offered some of his insider knowledge to share with the Global Strays community (yes, that means you!). Luckily, the vast majority of dog bites are preventable. When a pooch is feeling scared, stifled, threatened, overexcited, or sick, it is more likely to lash out. Often, those who fall victim to dog bites do not understand how to appropriately interact with dogs and respect their boundaries.

Want to know how to better manage dog interactions? Check out Twahlee’s tips below:

Hope you enjoyed these tips. You can always reply because I'd love to hear from you.

Warmly,
