Hi Global Strays Partner,

As the world celebrates Earth Day, we must remember that the actions we take to protect our planet are rooted in education. This invaluable component is often overlooked, especially in the sphere of animal welfare non-profit organizations. Global Strays knows that education is transformative and, moving forward, this will be our top priority.

Our brand new curriculum teaches and inspires underserved communities to think about the lasting impact of animal welfare. Through The Five Liberties of Animal Welfare, we teach children the importance of food, shelter, and care, which translates to better informed decisions towards their pets, themselves, and their local community.

Children were broken up into teams to create a shelter for their pets with homemade materials. Each one was then tested to see if they could withstand natural outdoor elements like sun, rain, and wind.
What did you learn today?

¨Not to hit the dogs, and that if we see a dog outside, we can bring them into our home, tuck them in with a warm soft blanket, love them and take care of them."
-Michell

Held in Nicaragua and Colombia monthly, students take part in a series of five workshops to learn concepts such as Freedom from Hunger & Thirst and Freedom from Fear & Distress. Students engage in creative and artistic activities to better understand the Five Freedoms.

I invite you to read the entire Progress Report below detailing the incredible strides our young participants are making.

FULL REPORT

Soon, our complete curriculum will be accessible on our website where anyone, free of charge, will be able to take part in educating future generations to protect the planet and all who inhabit it.

Once you read through the report, I would love to hear your thoughts. Please reply to this email and let’s get the conversation started!

Warmly,

Liz Shafiroff

President
