Hey Global Strays Partner,

This is Lionzo Cerda. He took his dog Osito to be spayed at Global Strays clinic last week in Jinotepe, Nicaragua. Lionzo did not have the resources to care for more puppies, so he told us that he was very grateful to have Osito spayed. Thanks to the clinic, he can now focus on caring for Osito without the burden of more puppies.

At Global Strays, we recognize that pet care is an expensive undertaking for many pet owners around the world. The current global pandemic and ensuing economic crisis is not making things easier for them. It is our organization’s priority to help families care for their pets during challenging financial times.

Over the last month, Global Strays has spayed or neutered a total of 112 animals, including 84 dogs and 28 cats. We are pleased that the practice of spay/neuter continues to gain support throughout the communities we work. At Global Strays, we strongly believe that such programs are the most effective method to prevent the overpopulation and abandonment of countless dogs and cats. We are also trying to offer more comprehensive veterinary care at our events free of charge for pet owners.

Finally, in an effort to protect the health and safety of communities during COVID-19, we have been hosting smaller, more frequent clinics to continue to meet the need in this area while adhering to social distancing. Below are photos from last week's clinic.

Thank you for your continued support for animal welfare as we navigate these unprecedented times together.

Warmly,

Liz Shafiroff
