Dear Global Strays Partner,

I have some BIG news that I am so excited to share with you. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and I finally get to tell you that…
Global Strays has a new partner!

For the past five years, I have been closely following the work of Liberia Animal Welfare & Conservation Society (LAWCS), founded by Morris Darbo, and am blown away by how they have been transforming the lives of young children and animals. In the rural county of Lofa, they began educating and encouraging thousands of school children each year to respect and care for animals.

Our new partnership has expanded this successful program into the capital city of Monrovia, where we will reach over 3,000 children across 10 schools, sparking interest and compassion for animals, fellow humans, and the environment.

“It's a milestone achievement for the program to be established in Liberia's capital city." - Morris Darbo
We hired four staff members including two new educators specific to Monrovia. Together with Kristy Himmler, our Program Director, and Dr. Steve Kruzeniski, our Humane Education Consultant, we are collaborating closely with LAWCS to continually improve the program.

The UN lists Liberia as one of the least developed countries in the world. According to Morris, the country does not have any policies or regulations to protect the wellbeing of companion animals, and, therefore, the concept of animal welfare education is in its infancy.

Global Strays Partner, this is why our new partnership is so significant. Working in impoverished regions to provide these resources is what we do

A perfect partnership match, Global Strays and LAWCS believe that animal welfare education is the key to creating a kinder, more compassionate world for animals and I’m so excited to include you on this journey, sharing stories with you along the way. Feel free to reply to this email - I would love to hear your thoughts on our new and ongoing programs.

Warmly,

Liz
